Platelets are best known for their importance in clotting blood. However, platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in tissue regeneration and the healing of injuries. Platelet-rich plasma or PRP is plasma with many more platelets than what is typically found in blood. Platelet-rich plasma extraction is completed in our clinic and takes less than 30 minutes. The patient's blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge for 15 minutes to separate out the platelets, which are then injected into target areas.

Eclipse PRP® is a proprietary system that is based on blood separation according to density using a unique separation gel. The PRP platform is available with an 11 mL PRP collection tube or 22 mL high concentration collection tube. The system allows for the preparation of pure Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) with optimal platelet concentrations and cellular content. Virtually, all Red Blood Cells (RBC) are eliminated from PRP and the concentration of pro-inflammatory Granulocytes (GRs) is highly reduced.
